Hello All!

Posted in nanajoann on May 2, 2008

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I posted and wanted to check in. There are so many of us needing help, and I can relate to almost every plea I read here.

Life continues to challenge us, but we still have our home and the basics. I took a leap of faith and started my own home cleaning and errand service, and so far I have 3 customers. I believe with all my heart God will send me many more and my business will thrive! Still, we had no running weater for 3 days last week, and there's always danger of something being cut-off. I just try to be strong and trust God, and He always comes through.

Still, I'd be lying if I said I don't get so jealous and angry when I watch shows like Oprah's Big Give and extreme Makeover; Home Edition. My eyes fill, my teeth grit, and I want to scream. "WHY CAN'T THAT BE ME, BE MY FAMILY!"

I want everyone here to know if I'm ever in a posotion to help any of you I will. I know it seems like an empty promise, but that is my dream. All of us DESERVE to be helped, deserve to be at peace, and please don't give-up!

      God Bless us all!

Hi All!

Does anyone know of a legitimate work from home business that DOESN'T ask for money to start you to work? I ahve many marketable skills but must work from home at this time. Please let me know of any such business or person looking for a good, hardworking, honest, employee.

Prayers needed

Posted in nanajoann on Jan 14, 2008

Good Morning Everyone!

Please include my family in your daily prayers. Since I've been trusting God with all of our situations, financial and our lives in general, things have been getting better in all areas. I continue today to give it all to Him, and I hope you will reaffirm this for me in your prayers. I am praying for all of you, and my prayer is for many miracles to come to all of you.

I hope everyone has a wondeful day!

I have a life that is truly a gift from God...I should have been dead a long time ago. Sometimes it's so hard for me to find my way around my will to His, but I never give-up and eventually, I get there.I must admit I wasd upset the other day when I read Emil's post about nearly no one getting financial aid from going on this site, but that has turned to gratitude for all the suport and hope I've gotten from so many. I hope everyone received a miracle of some sort today. God Bless all!

God is so good!!

I  have to share with everyone our good news. My husband's partner gave him a profit check today, FINALLY! It's a little over 2,000.00, enough to pay a little here and a little there and keep us afloat. The past 2 days I made-up my mind to give all my worries and fears to God, to forgive my husband's partner, and to not nag my husband about money or be mad at him. I shared my fears with all of you and received many prayers. Now today this Blessing.

PLEASE DON"T GIVE-UP on yourselves and your situations! If it happens for one it can happen for all.You are all in my prayers and I pray for relief for all who need it.

  Will write again tomorrow!

GREAT!!! He did the same to me just now. My heart just fell to my feet. I thought we were being blessed. I think he may be part of the Ivory Coast scams I've been hearing so much about. How do we get him off this site?

Thank-you so much!! He's what's holding us up and keeping us going, and in Him I have no fear....today. I do get scared if I let my mind run away with me. But posts like these help me so much. It was great to wake-up to your prayer for us this morning. Thank-you again.

We've made it through 2 more days...

Hi everyone! We've made it through 2 more days. Though we've had no offers of financial help, this site has helped lift my spirits. So many of your posts are interesting and caring, and I enjoy reading them. Thank-you so much.

Mu hubby got a little money today, and we 've got toilet paper now...WHOPPEEE!!! We also got food for the cat and 3 dogs. I was worried about being able to feed them today, but it's alright.

Another thing I'm VERY thankful for today is I haven't turned back to bulemia or overeating with all that's going on, and that's huge.God's Will makes me a little stronger evry day, and I am coping like a person in recovery. It's a true miracle Being in 12 Step helps with the fear too, because I live one day at a time, and today, nothing's been cut-off, we have some food, and we're well.

I hope all of you will sleep well tonight, and please pray for us, as I will for you. Good-night!

I have no right to stand in judgement of you as you have doneto so many on this site. I must ask however, how someone so educated and centered can not be aware bad things happen to good people! I speak from experience. Many people do all the right things and end-up needing help through no rfault of their own. Others suffer from conditions and illnesses that plague nthem all their lives and they can't seem to rise above. There are many'scammer' out there, but also many who are truly in need. It is not for me to judge how they came to that place. What is up to me is to remember all the times I have fallen and the goodness of others brought me back to my feet.

I can offer you this...be very careful, dear soul. I have met many like you in my life, and each and everyone has been knocked off their feet by God, including ME!The really odd thing is you don't even have to believe He exists fro this to happen. And it will happen.

When it does, we will all be here for you.

More About Us!

Posted in nanajoann on Jan 9, 2008

Our children range in age from 17-34, 4girls and 2 boys. The youngest is still at home a is a fine young man. He went out yesterday for hours trying to find a job to help Mom and Dad. The others, with the exception of the boys Mom, are all great kids who work hard and have never asked for anything. They have been trying to help too, but like 90% of us, they have just what they need and a tad of what they want. They've helped with groceries and diapers, one has let us use her car while she's at work, but they have reached their limits with financial aid.My husband has been trying to build his company for 8 years, but is now prepared to give that up and is applying for sales jobs , has his resume on Monster.com. He has always been willing to do whatever it takes for us, but it's hard to watch his dream die.The last 3 months have been especially hard. In early November our 6 year-old granddauhter, Autumn, who'd been feeling poorly for a few weeks, was admitted to the PICU with GBS. She became totally paralyzed and quit breathing on her own. With the prayers of many, she's now recovering with us, but it takes 1-3 years. She still has palsy in her little hands and is hyper-sensetive to pain, tires easily. But she's a walking miracle. On December 3rd, my sweet sister-in-law went to the hospital for a simple procedure and died. Then, to top it all off, there was no money for Christmas. Our son asked for 1 gift, an xbox, and there was no way. My husbands partner, I pray the resentment prayer for him every day, because I can't understand how he can do this to my hubby. He has gotten rich off my husband's sweat and hard work, is paying evryone else(laborers, suppliers)but when it come to my husband, the money's not there.

Still, there are many, many Blessings. I'm 16 years in recoveryfrom 13 years of bulemia. in a wonderful 12 step group. We are surrounded by family and friends who truly love us, we have an amazing church, and we have eachother. My son never complained about his Christmas, and I spent the day focusing on Christ's Love foir us, and on what we DID have, compared to others.

I beleive finding this site is another Blessing. Have a great day everyone!

About nanajoann

Posted in nanajoann on Jan 8, 2008

My name is Jo-Ann and I'm the Mom to six and Nana to 10, the lights of my life. I love to write, am working on my first book, got my GED at 42, love to help people and do events to bring people together. I love animals and Christmas, am a recovered bulemic and a recovering compulsive overeater. I love the Lord with all my heart. I've been married to my husband for 25 years, he's the best person I know. He met me when he was 22 and I had 3 children. He didn't even flinch, and he is 'Dad' to them and our 3 together. He is as honest as the day is new, and the hardest working man I know. We are raising 2 of our toddler grandchildren, and have another with us convalesing from Guilline Barre Syndrome. Their ages are 2,3, and 6. We receive no public assistance, my husband is our sole means of support. We are in sincere desperate need of financial help. My husband is self-employed, in partnership with a man he's known for years. This past July, his partner got into trouble with the IRS, and in August quit giving my husband his profit checks. This has created great hardship for us, but my husband has kept us afloat with side jobs. But because of the holidays, there's been no houses ready. Since the middle of November, he's received 1,600.00(net) income. If not for our church, we wouldn't have had groceries or Christmas for our grandbabies. We've lost the insurance and tags on our 1 car, and the radiator blew in his work truck last week. Right now, we're in immediate danger of disconnect of our water, gas for heat, and home phone. we are 1,400.00 behind in our rent.Tomorrow, the babies will run out of diapers and we have no way to buy more. My synthroid needs to be refilled but there's no money for that also. My husband has 2 houses to do that will get us back on our feet somewhat, but they may not be ready for 2 weeks+. We are asking for your help. We can provide confirmation of our situation through our church and can provide bills if needed. I'm really worried about my husband, the stress is making him physically sick.

We trust the Lord to take care of us, and we hope some of you will find our need valid and help our family. Thank-you for reading our story.
